Canons high-performance Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle

incorporates a 5-color individual ink system. The photo black ink which
improves the overall contrast of images makes it possible to print
photos with richer gradation and make it easier to control the printing
cost. Besides, PIXMA iP4970 is specially equipped
with the High-Capacity document black ink for large-size documents,
which is able to save cost for mass printing. Cost can be saved more

| Auto Photo Fix II function |
|
PIXMA iP4970 features a
"Auto Photo Fix II" function which equips with a scene categorization
system that can automatically recognize the type of image and adopt
the optimal correction based on the five shooting modes such as
portrait, scenery, night scenery, snapshot (scenery) and snapshot
(night scenery). This new function now offers intelligent Multi-zone
Exposure Correction to get the best results from pictures that have
been less than ideally exposed, by multi-zoning areas in an image
which are under exposed and correct each zone independently. It then
returns the original images to the most natural and ideal appearance.
A new white balance correction function is also
included for better color cast correction. Bright and natural skin
color can be expected in portrait images.

| PIXMA iP4970 supports 4 fun
filters, simply install the bundled software disc and you can create
fisheye, soft focus, toy camera and miniature effects. The fisheye
effect is best for taking funny shots of pets and children; soft
focus can soften skin tones; toy camera effect produces vignetting and
color shift; miniature effect can simulate the look from a
tilt-shift lens for a small-scale model look. Fun filter effect is
easily applicable and you can create unique and artistic effects
effortlessly. |

| PIXMA iP4970 is equipped
with an upgraded full HD Movie Print function. With the use of bundled
software, users can capture high quality prints from HD movie clips
taken by Canon digital compact cameras or DSLR cameras*, and the
printout mages will be optimized automatically. Three new features
are included: Merges frames function helps combine multiple clips
and produce a composite of movements; Movie clips index with
thumbnail scenes allows easy preview and image search; Auto Frame
Capturing selects sharper and clearer frames automatically, ensuring
the best possible image quality. |

| PIXMA iP4970 integrated
with Canon's unique "ChromaLife 100+ Photo System"^1. With the
combination of FINE print heads, new dye-based ink cartridge and
Canon's genuine photo papers, the color gamut has been greatly
expanded and better reproduction of color is guaranteed, especially in
the red areas (tonality including yellow, red and magenta). Richer
and more vivid image colors can be produced on photo paper.
Long-lasting photos which could be preserved up to 300 years are
guaranteed. |

| PictBridge direct print |
| The PictBridge function of the PIXMA iP4970 allows
photo printing directly from Canon digital cameras or video
camcorders. Photos can be printed directly without using a PC and allow
users to experience the joy of printing and have Canon's "Enjoy
