Power for both speed and stamina
The 3rd generation Intel® Core i7 Processor* and the dynamic hybrid graphics system with NVIDIA OPTIMUS
Technology* let you seamlessly switch between SPEED mode for faster performance and STAMINA mode for an
even longer battery life. Further extend your work time, with the optional extended sheet battery.
VAIO S Series is perfectly flat all the way, and remains full flat even when the extended sheet battery is used,presenting a slim profile while still delivering full PC computing performance. Simply slide the battery into and
out of the body to double your work time. Dock with the port replicator* and back up your data to the 500 GB HDD
at any time even when the sheet battery is attached.

VAIO S Series provides all the latest technologies needed for full mobile computing. Overall high performanceis assured with the 3rd generation Intel® Core i7 Processor*, as well as a Dynamic Hybrid Graphics System
that uses two graphics processors to best suit the application being run using either
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 640M LE GPU 2 GB of video memory* or integrated Intel® HD Graphics 4000*.
SSD* provides high-speed data storage and retrieval.

VAIO S Series 15 delivers outstanding picture quality with full HD, the top grade of LCD.
The wide viewing angle keeps colours vivid even when the screen is viewed from an angle.
This ensures the display looks great from any direction, letting you share your PC content
with others and be sure that everyone is getting a good view.
Slot-in optical drive
The slot-in optical drive not only protects the beauty of the full flat design but also increases
the rigidity of the frame. It strengthens the body while also eliminating the risk of the loading tray becoming bent.
Optional accessories to further boost the power of your VAIO S Series
A range of performance-enhancing accessories are available. The optional sheet battery doubles battery life,
and can be charged independent of the PC for uninterrupted, continuous use. Dual battery control also extends
battery life by optimizing charging and discharging of the optional and internal batteries.
Slide your VAIO S Series into the Port Replicator for convenient connections to all the devices you need,
and the Port Replicator contains its own 500 GB HDD that allows you to back up your data anytime.
Headphones and microphone
Plug headphones or a headset into the headphone/headset jack with VAIO S Series 13P and VAIO S Series 13 or
use a separate MIC jack with VAIO S Series 15.
4th generation HDD shock protection
The newest shock protection technologies for the hard disk drive utilise a multi-axis G sensor to detect
how the PC is moving in order to protect the drive if the PC falls or is dropped.
Rapid Wake + Eco*
The Rapid Wake + Eco feature allows you to wake up your notebook from sleep mode and resume use in
two seconds or less. It also saves your data automatically when the PC is put to sleep,
so there is no need to worry about data loss. Rapid Wake + Eco is also energy efficient
and allows VAIO S Series notebook to retain battery power for up to 10 days. Simply close the
lid or press the power button to put the notebook to sleep, then open the lid when you're ready to use it again.
*Battery life in sleep mode varies depending on configuration and operating conditions,
such as the size of installed system memory, remaining battery capacity, and USB charging settings.
Superb sound quality
Sony's xLOUD technology boosts the volume on the notebook's built-in speakers,
while Sony's "Clear Phase" technology modifies sound waves to produce a clearer,
more natural sound. VAIO S Series notebooks also feature Dolby Home Theater® v4,
which allows more specialised settings for movies, music, and games.

Connectivity with speed and compatibility
It's easy to integrate VAIO S Series into a wide range of environments. Bluetooth® offers wireless
connection of a Bluetooth mouse or headphones, as well as other Bluetooth-enabled optional accessories.
You can watch Full HD content on HDTVs via HDMI output connector. Both Memory Stick and SD Card
devices are supported, and Two USB 3.0 ports allow faster-than-ever data transfer.
Backlit keyboard
The keyboard automatically lights up when used in dark places, making it easier to type in dimly lit
rooms such as during your flight or in a conference room. The ambient light sensor even adjusts the
screen brightness according to how much ambient light there is. 15.5" models are also equipped with a
numeric keypad to enable faster input of numbers for spreadsheets.
